Hi, I am
Misha Iver–
a neurodivergent children’s book author-illustrator who jumps into Lake Champlain all winter long, grows limes in Vermont (yes, really), and draws stories in the backyard whenever the weather lets me.
About Me
My work explores the space where imagination and emotional truth meet: nature, fears, resilience, friendships, and the quiet, powerful inner worlds of children.
I create stories with the hope that they help little readers feel understood and a little braver.
I’m based in Burlington, Vermont, where creativity tends to spill into every part of my life. I’m always learning new skills simply to see if I can—half curiosity, half ADHD.
Outside of illustration, I stay closely involved with Vermont organizations supporting survivors of domestic violence and post-separation abuse. I collaborate with the Vermont Network and helped co-found Uplift Vermont. This work is woven into my everyday life and the way I show up for people around me.

More About Me
I was born in a small village in Belarus, on a Forest Street surrounded by an actual forest.
I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, long before I had the language to call myself an illustrator. I drew constantly and everywhere.
When I wasn’t drawing, I spent my days chasing imaginary creatures between the trees and sometimes quietly following real animals through the woods.
Not much has changed. I still walk through forests the same way, whether here in Vermont or while traveling alone around the world.
And in between those walks, I draw.
I hold a Master’s degree in Graphic Design, which became the foundation for how I illustrate books today. My artwork is always prepared for print: precise layouts, correct bleed, clean production workflow, and files that make life easier for editors, designers, and printers.
I was diagnosed with ADHD later in life, which explained my flexible sense of time and my tendency to hyper-focus while making things with my hands. It also made me incredibly crafty. If I can’t find something I want, I’ll figure out how to build it myself.
My Creative Work
I create books for children—and for the grownups who end up reading the same story over and over until they know every word by heart.
My hope is that each book becomes a small ritual of comfort and connection.
My illustrations explore emotions with gentleness and honesty, drawing from nature, imagination, and the inner worlds children build to understand themselves.
I collaborate with authors, publishers, educators, and families to bring meaningful ideas to life.
If you have a story, manuscript, or project that needs art, I’d love to hear from you.
